After a continued plateau at 10 mg, I reached out to my doctor and we decided it was time to move up to the 12.5 mg dosage. And wouldn’t you know — as I was getting ready to take my last 10 mg dose, the scale started moving again. 🙃 I went ahead with the 12.5 mg dose since it had arrived and was already paid for. So far, the first two doses have required some adjustment — frequent trips to the bathroom on shot day and for a few days after — but then back to Zepbound-normal. I took my third 12.5 mg dose last night, and so far today, things are good. I actually had a bit of breakfast this morning.
I’ve had more conversations over the last few months about my experience with Zepbound, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the reception. Most folks have been curious and inquisitive, but not negative. It also hasn’t turned every food interaction into a conversation about my weight loss journey, which has been a relief.
I’ve also had the chance to connect with others on this and similar medications and was reminded again of the power of community. Hearing about other people’s experiences — both where they overlap with mine and where they differ — always helps me feel a little more normal, if there is such a thing.
